Carols in the Mist

On Saturday December 18th, Bradford City Brass Band Played at Waterhouse and Mackintosh Homes

It was a cold, damp and misty morning when members of the City of Bradford Brass Band arrived to entertain the Residents at both Waterhouse and Mackintosh Homes. Covid had restricted the Residents from both Homes from attending the carol concert in person in the Community Lounge, but some Residents from Mackintosh Homes made it down to watch in the mist. Residents from Waterhouse Homes stood on balconies and sat on chairs outside, braving the weather to enjoy the mellow sounds of the brass instruments reverberating etherially  around the Homes' garden as the Band played carols and Christmas tunes.

Lucy and her Mum Christine provided hot and tasty festive fare handed out by helpful Elves Roger, Maureen, Wendy, John and Carol. Our current intrepid Wardens John and Cath were not on duty this morning, but one was spotted from afar, way across the gardens, taking a sneaky listen!

All in all it was a lovely start to the festive period, full of good cheer from the Residents, good music from the City of Bradford Brass Band and good food from Lucy and Christine! Merry Christmas to you all!

A very special thank you goes to Lucy, one of the Charities' Trustees, for organising this event in the face of the ever evolving Covid and any number of other obstacles, no small task which she achieved with aplomb.
